Our New LS1 Engine Conversion Kit allows you to mount any of the new GM Gen III LSx based engines into a stick shift Pontiac Fiero.
As you may know, we’ve been selling & installing V-8 Conversion Kits for the Fiero for more than 25 years now & sales of our “normal” SBC engine conversion kits are at all time highs. We’ve now designed a new kit for the new Gen III GM Small Blocks. This kit is even more extensive than the V-8 conversion kits we’ve been producing in the past. Adapting the new LSx based engines into the Fiero was a much larger challenge than even I imagined. Although the bellhousing bolt pattern on the LSx engine is similar to the SBC engines, nothing else on the new engine was the same. None of our Adapters, Flywheels or mounts would work on the LSx engines, so we had to design a completely new kit to install these engines into the Fiero. |

Installing the LSx engine into the Fiero requires cutting & welding of the Fiero engine cradle & none of the stock Fiero transmission & engine mounts are used with the LSx. Engines. We recommend that you use the Camaro Oil Pan & we include instructions on how to modify it for this application. It’s a simple modification but has to be done.
Our V-8 Kits for normal SBC engines allow you to buy them in various levels of completion. We have Economy, Deluxe & Master-Build levels of kits. That’s not going to be the case with the LSx engines. With the LSx kits the Engine/Transmission adapter plate, Starter Mounting Block, Starter, Flywheel & Clutch are very closely integrated with each other. This requires that we pre-assemble these parts for you before we ship them. Thus these parts are not available separately.
Other parts you’ll need to complete the swap that are not included in LSx Kits……

- LSx engine, ECM & the appropriate wire harness
- EP242 Fuel pump
- You will need to use the Camaro/Fbird oil pan
- You’ll need to have the Corvette Harmonic Balancer Pulley GM pn 12560115
- You must use the Axle Support Bearings like Rodney Dickman sells pn 75125
- Oil Sender Adapter fitting (if you are going to turn the intake manifold around)
